Are you looking for a company that can help you with a construction project? A company I endorse is Red Rock Construction. We have investigated their business practices, the way they treat customers, and that’s why I’m proud to declare them Gephardt Approved.
Spend some time with owner Kurt Nielson, and you’ll find his experience in the construction industry goes all the way back to 1970, when he was a framer for Davidson Framers, Inc. “We were one of the largest framers in the state,” he tells me, “framing the Canyon Racquet Club, local Safeway’s and many strip malls.” It was in 1976 that he went out on his own, and founded Kurt Nielson Construction; which eventually became Red Rock Construction 20 years later.
“Through the years, we have built over 3.5 million square feet of buildings,” Kurt tells me. “Often times, when we are working on a project, someone will see what we’re doing, and ask us to do something for them. One thing leads to another for us. That’s really how we stay busy.” It is experiences like this that have won Red Rock Construction projects like the St. Joseph’s Retirement Hospital remodel, parks construction in the Daybreak community; which lead to putting in the goalposts in the REAL Stadium, and so on, he says. “Our goal is to do it right the first time but be prepared for everything that could happen.” This philosophy is at the heart of his customer service attitude.
“You Name It…We Can Make It Happen” – Kurt Nielson, owner
In fact, it is commitment to doing it right the first time that is the foundation for their longevity, Kurt says. “For all our projects, we take the time to go over every detail with our employees, so there will be no surprises,” he explains. “That way, everyone knows what will be happening, and that gives our customer confidence in us.” As a family owned business, Kurt’s son Scott tells me, it has always been this way. “My dad is very organized – that’s how he has always done things.”
It was his organizational skills that led Kurt to add services over the years, expanding into a full service business that can handle the construction of an entire building. “If it’s under 3000 square feet, we can even do the design and architectural services as well,” he tells me. “That way we are familiar with every inch of the proposed plan.” And with 3 general contractors on his staff, all journeyman/foreman with over 15 years experience each, Kurt says there really is nothing Red Rock Construction can’t handle. When I asked him what services they provide, he laughs, and then began listing off over 60 phases and elements of a construction project that they handle on a regular basis. “We really can do everything from window tinting to installing loading dock equipment. You name it, we can make it happen.”
“We are fully licensed, bonded and insured…” – Kurt Nielson
They guarantee their work for a full year. “We are fully licensed, bonded and insured,” Kurt says, “and when there is a problem from a customer, we have a work order written up immediately, and are usually able to get to it within an hour.” This timely response to problems has earned Red Rock Construction maintenance contracts as well, with large businesses such as CenturyLink. “We don’t want to be the biggest, but we do want to be the best,” he says, “and to always be working on keeping our customers satisfied”
